Abbey Lake makes fishing fun!

Our Partnership Development Manager Dean Asplin worked with Abbey Lake Angling Club who hosted a great Let’s Go Family Fishing event… Dean writes:

I congratulate Abbey Lake Angling Club and all involved in delivering such a fun event which really captured the Let’s Go Family Fishing campaign message that “fishing is for everyone!” Club volunteers did a fantastic job and introduced over 55 people to angling – a brilliant result.

Charlotte Cook, the council’s Community Manager made contact with me again after the session to say that “Everyone really enjoyed themselves and the club had a brilliant time delivering the event.”

The “Get Fishing” campaign is run by the Angling Trust to increase the number of people being introduced to angling across the country. Anyone interested in going fishing can find angling events at Get fishing Near You. The events listed are for all participants regardless of gender, age, fitness or previous angling experience.

Angling Participation and the Get Fishing campaign is supported by Environment Agency fishing licence income and helps to introduce thousands of people to fishing each year.
