What is Multi-Bait?
If you’ve never been fishing before then this is definitely for you! Multi-Bait sessions are an introduction to angling using both natural and artificial baits. Using a variety of bait not only increases your chances of catching a fish, it means you learn more on the day about fish, their habits and habitat. These are a great way for your family to learn what really goes on underwater…
What’s included?
The session includes casting instruction, a demo on how to set up your tackle and the methods behind hooking, playing and landing a fish properly. You’ll do all this while you’re actually fishing which adds the excitement of catching trout to the activity!
Who runs ‘Learn To Fish’?
Learn To Fish sessions are run by qualified angling coaches and everything is provided to help you catch your first trout. All you need to do is turn up and get fishing. With weekly lessons at Northumbrian Water’s reservoirs across the North East, there’s never been a better opportunity to get into fishing. The sessions are part of the Angling Trust’s Get Fishing campaign to encourage more people to go fishing, more often and are funded by the Environment Agency.
Olivia attended one of the sessions and said:
“I thoroughly enjoyed my experience fishing with Northumbrian Water because it was something new, different and really interesting. The staff were great and helped me along the way by teaching me everything to know about fishing. I met some new friends, which is good because I can go again and meet up with people who I’ve had fun with. Altogether I caught four trout and brought a couple home to eat.”
