Anglers Against Litter
Litter champion Ron just can’t stop picking!

Yorkshire’s litter picking champion Ron Wood is still at it! Just a few weeks after receiving the first Anglers Against Litter award for his volunteer services to the environment and fishing, Ron has been out and about clearing up his local waters.
Ron received a money-can’t-buy cap specially designed by Shimano, trade partners of our Anglers Against Litter campaign, for his commitment to help clean up our waterways over many years.
Ron, a voluntary bailiff, said: “My own view is that as anglers we are custodians of the rivers and streams and if we don’t look after them, who else will? There’s plenty of work to be done.”
You can find out more about Ron and his passion for a clean countryside, together with details of the Shimano-sponsored award, here:

The Angling Trust’s Anglers Against Litter campaign is sponsored by tackle manufacturers Shimano and supported by the Environment Agency. More than 100 angling clubs have signed up to receiving litter picking kits and pledge to carry out at least two organised litter picks per year.
