*** WOMEN’S AND ANGLERS WITH DISABILITIES NATIONALS 2024 – VENUE UPDATE ***

The Angling Trust can today confirm the Women’s and Anglers with Disabilities Nationals will both take place at Marston Fields Fishery, Sutton Coldfield on Saturday July 6, 2024.

Marston is one of the Midlands’ most popular day ticket and match waters with a growing reputation which has also earned it a Fish O Mania qualifier this season.

Through the winter the team at the fishery have been grafting to get the venue ready for the two Nationals, with work carried out to ensure pegs are accessible for all anglers, along with a stocking program which will ensure good catches.

The Women’s National will see anglers take on the complex’s Oak, Willow, Elm, and Laurels lakes with 77 pegs booked to ensure the increased numbers of anglers the event has been enjoying over the past few years is covered.

It will be the popular Sycamore lake which will play host to the Anglers with Disabilities champs with 40 pegs available for the match.

“Both Nationals are growing in size, and we need to secure venues which can not only cope with the number of anglers, but also provide the facilities required to cater for those fishing in these prestigious matches,” said Steve Fitzpatrick, Angling Trust Head of Competitions.

“Marston Fields may be a new fishery to some but it’s one that has very quickly established itself as a quality match venue and we’re looking forward to the Nationals in July.”

* Tickets for both events will go on sale on Thursday March 14 at 12 noon on the Angling Trust Competitions website.
