Martin James MBE – honoured for services to Angling and campaigner for pollution-free waters

I attended the inaugural meeting of the Angling Trust and was proud to accept the honour of being one of the first 40 Ambassadors. I have always believed we anglers should have a voice that gets things done and became a member of the Angling Cooperative Association in the 1950s (later it became the Angling Conservation Association) and donated all my fees from speaking engagements, writings and photography to the Association.

In October 1989, I was presented with a Scroll of Honour and life membership of the Association for services in the fight against water pollution. In 2012 I was honoured for my services to Charity and Angling with an MBE.

Today I’m still fighting those polluting our waterways, and also encouraging anglers to join the Angling Trust, our only voice in angling.
